Cloud Native
Cloud Native is an approach to develop and execute an application that maximize the benefits of the cloud computing model. The Cloud Native application aims for the application development method with the function and structure that can enhance application availability and scalability on an infrastructure, which provides an environment of continuous development and automated management to all of the private, public, and hybrid cloud environment. The degree of “native” can be defined according to the level of utilizing the infrastructure and services provided by the cloud.
The Cloud Native Infrastructure doesn’t simply means servers, networks, or storage in cloud. It means the governance system that maximizes efficiency by configuring cloud from the system operation aspect, in addition to the resiliency and scalability provided by cloud. Therefore, an efficiently configured Cloud Native infrastructure is integrated with various functions and services that can manage the entire lifecycle the Cloud Native application.
Applications are divided into several services that perform independent functions/roles, and the application architecture contains worry and philosophy about how to configure, connect, and manage those services. Agility required by modern business, and the development of IT that can support the requirement enabled the advent of the Cloud Native application era. Cloud Native applications have the characteristics of the microservice architecture, container, orchestration, and serverless, which maximizes scalability and availability from the aspect of the infrastructure provided by cloud.
